To Austria with the 3ieme Age of Lespignan

We were up at 3am and out quickly, ready for out week in Austria.

The bus arrived in Lespignan at 4am and so we were soon on our way with our usual group (the third age of Lespinan). We have two drivers, Christophe, who is our regular driver and Clémence who is doing his first long trip.

Our first day takes up from Lespignan, a village on the coast close to Beziers, to Feldkirch, a medieval town on the Swiss, Austrian and Liechtenstein border. The earliest date known for Feldkirch is 1218 when the castle was built by Count Hugo von Montfort.

We stopped for breakfast at 7am, then continued on our way via Vercors. By 9am, the scenery was becoming more interesting.

We continued to the French/Swiss border past Aix les Bains, Annecy and towards the Swiss border and Geneva and Bearne.

Lunch was in the centre of Bearn in a magnificently decorated restaurant. After lunch, we had tine to wander round the streets with the cameras.

Later, we continued on to Austria though the mountains. the scenery which was magnificent and we both snapped away from the bus.

We arrived at Feldkirch in the early evening and just had time to visit the ancient chateau before dinner at the hotel.
