Horton Plains National Park and World's End

Horton plains national park is a good hour's drive from our hotel. To make sure of seeing yet another 'World's End' and not a bank of clouds, we set off from our hotel at 0430 with a packed breakfast. The track uptothe park is narrow and rough, so we were in a 4 wheeled drive. While we had planned for the park, we hadn't expected such an early start with great associated temperatures, so we were wearing many layers!

On the way up to the car park, we stopped for photos of Adam's peak.

As we left the car, we saw deer hoping for a bite of our breakfast. His friends were close by. After a little something from our enormous breakfast bag, we set off.

Our first point of view inside the park was mini Worlds end', then we continued on to the real Worlds end.

Our next stop was Baker's falls which gave the cameras a challenge, so I have moved to black and white.

Then we continued on to complete the 8km walk. By now, we were prepared for a little more breakfast.

The it was on to visit a tea plantation. Unfortunately, as it was Sunday, the ladies were not picking, despite the few that were, so we had only a theoretical explanation of the process.

After a taste of the tea, we returned to the hotel to catch up with our sleep.

Views from our room: the lawn below and a tea tree maze.
