The Peradeniya botanic gardens, Kandy

The Peradeniya gardens were once the gardens of a palace. The gardens origins are in the 14th century and it became a botanical garden in 1821 under British rule. The first tea trees in Sri Lanka were planted there in 1824.

It is a beautiful, peaceful place where we spent about 90 minutes; it wasn't enough.

After that, we went to look at Sri Lankan gems!

This was our second and final night in Kandy. We enjoyed a meal at the hotel, overlooking the pool.
